Robert G. Kramer
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kramer is founder and CEO of NIC, a non-profit education and resource center that serves debt and equity investors interested in the senior housing and care industry.
NIC is the leading provider of research as well as business and financial performance data on this sector for capital providers. NIC’s focus is to enable access and choice in senior housing and care by providing data, analytics and connections that bring together investors and care providers. Mr. Kramer, a frequent writer and speaker on trends in senior housing and long-term care, has directed NIC since its inception in 1991. A former county government official, and Maryland state legislator, Mr. Kramer was a leader on health and environmental issues while representing the state capital of Annapolis in the 1980s. Mr. Kramer was educated at Harvard and Oxford universities and also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Westminster Theological Seminary.
Charles W. Harry, Jr.

National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC)
Chuck Harry is responsible for guiding all of NIC’s research efforts, including the analysis function of the NIC MAP service. Prior to joining NIC in 2010, he worked at Cushman & Wakefield, where he held the positions of managing director, Investment Strategies, and managing director, Analytics.
His 20+ year career is comprised of institutional investment management across the various property types with an emphasis on the apartment/multifamily sector. Early on, he helped solidify the apartment sector as one of the core property types for institutional investors. At the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), where he was director of real estate, Chuck expanded the association’s product lines with new indices and developed public outreach as well as market education programs. At Cushman & Wakefield, in addition to forecasting and monitoring economic and real estate market trends, he helped establish global infrastructures to facilitate cross-border transactions and the firm’s emerging investment management operations.
Chuck received his Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina. He received a Bachelor of City Planning from the University of Virginia, School of Architecture.

Willis Towers Watson
JoAnne leads the clinical risk services for the Senior Living Practice at Willis Towers Watson. She has held positions as corporate nurse leader in a national senior living company for 12 years and clinical leadership positions in health care systems for over 25 years.
In her role at Willis Towers Watson she consults with senior living providers regarding General and Professional Liability, clinical risk management and operational improvement.
JoAnne is an active member of the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders and was appointed to their Continuum of Care Committee. She currently serves as a board member for the American Assisted Living Nurses Association and is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
Executive Vice President & Director of Research
Edie Smith manages a wide range of projects related to 50+ housing and consumer products. Her expertise in statistical and data analysis and research methodologies ensures accurate results for ProMatura's clients.
Edie has been integrally involved in recent national studies for the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry. These included a housing survey of 3,500 60+ households; a survey of 1,023 assisted living residents across the United States; and a survey of 1,500 households in the 45-to-64 age group about their responsibilities for their parents or other relatives. She has also completed numerous market feasibility projects and image and awareness studies for 50+ housing developers and owners in markets across the United States.
Edie formerly was supervisor of actuarial services for Central Benefits Insurance Co. in Columbus, Ohio.
Edie holds a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics with a minor in computer science from the University of Alabama.
